At Lisseni, we believe you should have complete control over your data. We have made it as easy as possible for you to permanently delete your account and all associated personal information from our servers at any time.
This policy explains how you can request data deletion, what data is deleted, and what important steps you need to take regarding active subscriptions.
1. Your Right to Deletion
Under global privacy standards, including GDPR and CCPA, you have the "Right to be Forgotten." You may request the erasure of your personal data without undue delay. Lisseni fully complies with these regulations by providing automated, self-service deletion tools directly within the mobile application.
2. How to Delete Your Data (In-App)
The fastest and most secure way to delete your data is directly through the Lisseni mobile app. This process is automated and immediate.
Step-by-step instructions:
- Open the Lisseni application on your iOS or Android device.
- Navigate to the Settings tab (usually indicated by a gear icon).
- Scroll to the bottom of the Settings page.
- Tap on Delete Account.
- Read the confirmation prompt carefully and tap Confirm Deletion.
Note: Once you confirm, your account will be logged out, and the deletion process will begin immediately on our servers.
3. How to Delete Your Data (Via Email)
If you have already uninstalled the app or no longer have access to your device, you can request manual data deletion by contacting our support team.
Please send an email to hilisseni@gmail.com from the email address associated with your Lisseni account.
Subject: Account Deletion Request
Body: Please permanently delete my Lisseni account and all associated data for the email address: [Insert Your Email Address].
Manual requests may take up to 7-14 business days to process for identity verification purposes.
4. What Happens Upon Deletion
When your deletion request is processed, the following actions are taken irreversibly:
- 🗑️User Account: Your authentication records (email, user ID) are permanently removed from Firebase Authentication.
- 📝Cloud Data: All your saved notes, transcriptions, text, and custom tags are instantly hard-deleted from our Firestore databases.
- 🚫No Recovery: This action cannot be undone. We do not keep soft-deletes or shadow backups of user-generated content. Once deleted, your notes are gone forever.
5. Third-Party Data & AI
As outlined in our Privacy Policy, we use third-party APIs (such as OpenAI and Google Gemini) to transcribe and format your audio.
You do not need to request deletion from these third parties. Our API agreements mandate that these providers process your audio/text ephemerally. They do not store your data, and they are contractually prohibited from using your data to train their models. The original audio file is deleted from our servers the moment the text transcription is complete.
6. Important: Subscriptions Are Managed Separately
Action Required for Paid Users
Deleting your Lisseni account or uninstalling the app WILL NOT cancel your active Pro subscription.
Because payments are securely handled by Apple and Google, we do not have the authority to cancel your recurring billing. To avoid future charges, you must manually cancel your subscription through your device's app store settings:
- iOS Users: Go to iPhone Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > Lisseni > Cancel.
- Android Users: Go to Google Play Store > Profile Icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > Lisseni > Cancel.
